ILLINOIS SAFETY COUNCIL BENEFITS FOR:
GREATER EFFINGHAM CHAMBER OF
COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY

Your membership in the Greater Effingham Chamber of Commerce & Industry entitles you to a free membership with the Illinois Safety Council for one (1) year.  Why?  Because safety matters!  The Illinois Safety Council wants to be your first choice for safety services.  As a member of the Effingham Chamber, you are provided with what it takes to be successful in business.  The other part of being successful is having effective safety programs.  The Illinois Safety Council (ISC) can provide you on-site training, consulting services and other resources for the safety needs you have.  Why are these programs important?  These services are resources designed for two purposes:

    1) To assist you in keeping your employees safe and injury free

    2) Providing your organization with the resources to stay OSHA
        compliant

    3) Safety keeps down injuries/unnecessary costs and increases
        production

NEW “On-site Emergency Response Planning Guide
Your organization needs to have emergency/disaster plans in place before an incident.  The ISC “Guide” comes with easy to follow software that, as you complete the questions, you develop your own emergency response for your facility.  Planning will keep your employees and facilities safe during emergencies.  Need more help?  The author of the “Guide” is on staff with the Illinois Safety Council and will assist you.

NEW!  Become an ISC “Registered On-site Emergency Planner”
For those who use the “Illinois Safety Council On-site Emergency Planning Guide” and follow our recommendations, they can become “Registered Emergency Planners” through the Illinois Safety Council.  This shows commitment and sends a message to employees/customers that safety is important and your business is prepared for an incident.

NEW “Illinois Safety Council Safety Associations”
The Illinois Safety Council is excited to report member companies of the Council will be able to take part in joining (without an additional membership fee) networking groups that will be called “Safety Associations.”  These “Safety Associations” will be industry driven and will provide your safety department and human resource staff the following:

    1) Networking with the safety peers of your industry

    2) “Round Table Discussions” to discuss your industries safety
         needs and solutions

    3) Provide a forum to contribute to the safety of your industry
         or organization

    4) Individual new recognition opportunities

    5) Training for your industry or organization

“Illinois Safety Council Offers Three Ways to Get Trained”
The 1st way is thru monthly “SAFETY BREAKfast Meetings: on various safety topics.  The 2nd way is that the Council is open enrollment in “Safety Training.”  The 3rd way is “On-site training” for members upon request.  The ISC is planning to bring its training to Effingham County!

NEW!  “Illinois Safety Council Safety Awards Program”
As a member of the ISC, you are also eligible to participate in the Illinois Safety Council’s “Outstanding Safety Performance Award” program.  In this program, you compete against your own safety record from the previous year.  The Council is also developing several awards programs that will recognize safety and health outreach efforts of member companies, individuals and the “safety awareness” programs that a member company has taken on during a year.

“The ISC Safety Video Library-Over 300 Titles”
The Illinois Safety Council has one of the largest safety video libraries in the country.  The Council has over 28 categories of video’s and over 300 titles.  The member rental fee is $30.  The non-member video rental fee is $50.  Note:  $7 fee for handling/shipping for each video.
